The cartographic model 1:50 000 – grid (KM50-R) is the digital state map of the entire Austrian territory in a basic scale of 1:50 000. It is free of blades and georeferenced. The update takes place nationwide at periodic intervals but also on occasions in the event of significant infrastructural changes. The Austrian map 1:50 000 (ÖK50) – in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMLV) – as well as the Austrian map 1:25 000 (ÖK25V) is derived from the KM50-R. This 50 km x 50 km tile is one of a total of 63 tiles, which together cover the territory of Austria
