By custom, men-O-war do not dress ship underway whether in port or at sea. She left dock without dress flags flying, broke them out near Marine Exchange building at entrance to main channel. 3-4: Angelita in full dress passes 'Angel's Gate' Lighthouse guarding entrance to Los Angeles harbor. 5-6" Pilot T. Quinn Mitchell, cools heels at gate until his credentials he is showing were given final approval by ship's officers.
