Dataset S4: Growth rates (µ, day-1), mortality rate per day and biomass production (µg C L-1 d-1) of Prochlorococcus, Synechococcus and photosynthetic eukaryotes, based on dilution experiments analyzed with flow cytometry. With two oligotrophic experiments and two experiments for each mesotrophic water type. Results for 2-points analysis and linear regression-based (y-intercept = theoretical true growth rate (µ, day-1) in the absence of grazers and slope = mortality) are shown for 24- and 48-hours incubations. Significance of linear regression analysis (Linear regression model t-test) are shown (** p<0.01, * p ≤ 0.05 and ≥ 0.01, • p≤ 0.1 and ≥ 0.05, n.s. Not significant).
