This study includes a Time Series Experiment where we a assembled Synthetic Microbial Communities (SynComs) and confronted them against the pathogen Plasmopara vitocola in vitro on leaf discs. Treatments included "SynComA" comprised of 42 species, "SynComB" comprised 22 species (both contained a mix of bacteria, yeast and filamentous fungi suspended in physiological saline), a positive control with only the Pathogen and a Negative Control with only physiological saline. Bacterial 16S and fungal ITS metabarcoding was carried out on composite leaf disc samples taken daily over an 8 day exmerimental time period to track each SynCom's colonisation and biocontrol efficacy.
