The epitope resiude was determined in the cited reference: Wan et al. (2013) J Virol 87: 9290-300 [PMID: 23785204]. Prophylactic administration of high doses (10 and 15 mg/kg) of epitope-specific mAb 4E9 partially protected mice (20 and 50%, respectively) from challenge with a lethal dose of CA/09 virus. Antibody treatment reduced the viral load in the lung.
