Share of renewables in electricity generation in Africa 2000-2019

Renewable energy sources accounted for nearly 18 percent of the electricity generation in Africa as of 2019. From 2010 onwards, the share slightly oscillated between a low of 15.7 percent and a high of 18.3 percent. In terms of absolute volume, electricity generation from renewable sources in the continent grew strongly in the same period.
