The indicator is an estimate of potential cold extraction from urination deeper than 10 meters for cooling of residential and residential areas, hospitals, computer centers, etc. In Dutch urban areas, 20-40 meters deep wells were dug for sand extraction, which then remained as a recreational lake. in summer, in these lakes at 5-8 meters depth, a temperature jump layer (thermocline) under which 5-10 °C cold water is preserved from the previous winter period. This cold primer can be used or used for cooling. Currently only cold is extracted from the Nieuwe Meer and the Ouderkerkerplas in the southern urban area of Amsterdam. The water boards shall grant the permit for cold extraction, which shall be tested for water quality, fish growth and monitoring of harmful forms of algal bloom, with the participation of stakeholders in the recreational use or usefulness of the lake. This map gives an example for three puddles around Amsterdam and only shows the direct cold extraction from puddles.
