Karnal bunt of wheat caused by Tilletia indica is an important disease prevalent inIndia and several other countries. Presently, the disease is re-emerging in northernparts of India due to changes in the climatic conditions and the incidence reported isup to 10 percent. Since the pathogen, Tilletia indica is quarantined internationally andwas first reported from India, there is a need to fully understand virulence pattern andevolution of the pathogen through full genome sequencing of different isolates.
