资源简介:
A NURSE-LED BRIEF INTERVENTION FOR ENHANCING SAFE SEX PRACTICE AMONG EMERGING ADULTS IN HONG KONG USING INSTANT MESSAGING: A FEASIBILITY STUDYA non-randomised feasibility trial was performed. All participants received an instant messaging intervention to promote safer sex practices. A baseline questionnaire containing the number of sexual intercourse, number of protected sexual intercourse in the past 12 months, and the 25-items Multidimensional Condom Attitudes Scale (MCAS) was given on the entry of the study. Another questionnaire with the same set of measurements at baseline and questions evaluating acceptability, demand, implementation, practicality, integration, and limited efficacy was distributed 1 week after intervention delivery. All WhatsApp data were downloaded for feasibility evaluation.<br>A MIXED-METHODS STUDY OF THE EXPERIENCES AND PERCEPTIONS OF CONDOM USE AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN HONGQuantitative data:All participants completed a self-administered online survey. Data on participants’ characteristics, sexual health knowledge, sexual health attitudes, and condom use practices were collected. Knowledge concerning condom use was assessed by the number of correct steps that participants attempt to accomplish during sexual intercourse, which is self-developed. The 25-items Multidimensional Condom Attitudes Scale (MCAS) and Condom Self-Efficacy Scale (CSES) were used to assess attitudes and self-efficacy in condom use respectively. Consistency of condom use was assessed by calculating the ratio of reported sexual acts involving condom use to the total number of sexual acts in the past month. Participants were also asked about their sexual health behaviours, such as age of first sexual intercourse, number of sexual partners, and sexually transmitted infection diagnosis history.Qualitative data: In-depth individual interviews were conducted to explore the factors influencing condom use among university students in Hong Kong. The interview guide included topics related to participants’ internal perceptions of factors associated with condom use behaviours, such as perceived severity of sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy, barriers to condom use, and self-efficacy to condom use. In addition, topics related to contextual factors associated with condom use behaviours, such as sociodemographic characteristics, characteristics of family context, and characteristics of school context, were also investigated.
