Studies of microbial diversity on rats gut.

Dampness-heat syndrome is a common syndrome in traditional Chinese medicine, which is caused by damp-heat external evil, fond of greasy food, alcoholism, unregulated diet and other factors. According to the theory of Traditional Chinese medicine, UC can be divided into 7 types, among which dampness-heat syndrome is the most important type of colitis active period. Subsequently, we adopted the compound factors of "high-fat and high-sugar diet+drinking+alternation of hunger and satiety+hot and humid climates " to accumulate the spleen and invaded the large intestine later, finally we successfully constructed rats with damp-heat syndrome, and then induced them with 5%DSS. Rats with UC of damp-heat syndrome showed more serious symptoms such as lethargy, loss of appetite, smelly stool and weight loss than ordinary UC rats. By comparing the colonic flora of UC rats with or without dampness-heat syndrome, we explored the intervention effect of dampness-heat syndrome on the progression of UC disease.
