The inclusion of river areas in the General Plan for the Use of Public Waters of the Autonomous Province of Trento – PGUAP – was certainly an enlightened and far-sighted decision, where river ecosystems are considered for their ecological function. A valid classification of ecological river areas is based on a thorough assessment of the main morphological, structural and biotic parameters of the ecosystem in question, interpreted in the light of the principles of river ecology, and the IFF is a method aimed at assessing the ecological functionality of the river ecosystem. In order to obtain an up-to-date and homogeneous FFI database for the entire provincial network, the project ‘Application of FFI to the hydrographic network of the provincial territory’ was launched in 2009. The Working Group of the Environmental Protection Agency applied the IFF on all the typed watercourses of the province for a total of 1509 km, walking along the watercourses from the confluence with the main receiver end to the altitude of 1800 m, the ultimate limit of application of the Index for the low presence of arboreal - shrub vegetation. The organisation, arrangement and storage of the data in a database called the Trentino IFF database has improved their use also for consultation and display of the results on a map, as well as for their dissemination on the network.
特伦托自治省公共水域利用总体规划(General Plan for the Use of Public Waters of the Autonomous Province of Trento,简称PGUAP)将河流区域纳入规划范畴,无疑是一项兼具前瞻性与远见卓识的决策,该规划充分考量了河流生态系统的生态功能。对河流生态区域进行科学有效的分类,需基于对目标生态系统核心形态、结构与生物参数的全面评估,并结合河流生态学原理进行解读;而IFF是一种用于评估河流生态系统生态功能的方法。为构建覆盖全省水系网络的最新且统一的FFI数据库,“FFI在省级辖区水文网络中的应用”项目于2009年正式启动。特伦托自治省环境保护局工作组沿水道实地开展IFF评估,总评估长度达1509公里,评估范围从水道与主受纳水体的汇合处向上延伸至海拔1800米处——这正是木本-灌木植被低存在度指数(Index for the low presence of arboreal - shrub vegetation)的适用极限。将相关数据整理、编排并存储于名为“特伦托IFF数据库”的数据库中,不仅提升了数据的查询、地图可视化展示效率,还便于其在网络上进行传播与推广。
