To document the properties of the snowpack six snowpits are made in Kobbefjord each year in late winter (app. April). The logging includes density measurements taken with a rip cutter and snow temperature measurements every 10 cm. Description of snow grain size, grain shape and hardness throughout the profile are found in the stratigraphy files. The snow survey in Kobbefjord has been carried out annually in late winter since 2008.
