ISIMIP3b GDP input data

This dataset contains national time series of gross domestic product (GDP) for the time period 1850-2014 to be used as input data for ISIMIP3b (www.isimip.org, Frieler et al. 2023 in prep.). For the historical time period the data equals the GDP estimates provided for ISIMIP3a.<br>The dataset is the result of a harmonization between historical World Development Indicators (WDI), short-term projected data from the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) World Economic Outlook (WEO) , and the original SSP income levels in 2100 (Koch and Leimbach 2023). The observational data from the World Bank (WDI) is converted into the unit of the original SSPs, i.e. constant 2005 Int$PPP, using deflators and PPP conversion factors from the WDI. Additionally, the dataset is also provided in constant 2005 US$MER based on a conversion with deflators from WDI. For the years before 1960, the dataset is extended with the national annual GDP estimates provided for ISIMIP2a mostly based on data from the Maddison project (Maddison, 2016; Geiger, 2018).
