Replication Data for: Individual differences in emotional contagion and empathy

This spreadsheet contains data from 305 university students on measures tapping into alexithymia (20 item Toronto Alexithymia Scale, Bagby, Parker, & Taylor, 1994), sensory processing sensitivity (Highly Sensitive Person Scale, Aron & Aron, 1997; Orienting Sensitivity Subscale of Adult Temperament Questionnaire, Evans & Robthbart, 2008), empathy (Interpersonal Reactivity Index, Davis, 1983; Empathy Index, Jordan et al., 2016), emotional abuse (emotional abuse subscale of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, Bernstein et al., 2003), and depression (Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Kroenke et al., 2001). Also included are ratings on a behavioral measure of emotional contagion assessing: strength of 9 emotions experienced while viewing 5 different types of films; strength of primary emotion and number of discrete emotions for each film; extent to which feelings experienced while watch each film type matched those of person featured in film). Information about participant age and sex is also provided.
