In animal production, timely and effective supplementation of iron to young animals is crucial. Non heme iron can be divided into inorganic iron and organic iron according to the type of ligands. The inorganic iron source represented by Iron sulfate is the most common iron supplement. Iron sulfate is cheap and easy to produce, but there are many shortcomings. Research has proved that yeast is an ideal carrier of trace elements. Candida utilis is the same as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, They are probiotic microbiota preparations certified by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as food additives, and are also fungal strains approved by the Ministry of Agriculture for use as feed grade microbial additives. Candida albicans has higher protein and nucleic acid content than general yeast. At present, there is relatively little research on yeast iron, with some studies on yeast iron in mice and broilers, but few studies on weaned piglets.
