This series comprises Contributions to Works Books of the Municipality of Annandale.The records in the series consist of volumes with numbered folio pages divided into ruled columns with printed headings for the recording of information. Each folio has the printed heading ‘Municipality of Annandale – Contribution to Works Book’. The column headings in the first volume are: Date of Approval; Council Minute No.; Amount Approved; Locality; Description of Work; Name of Owner, Occupier, or body contributing to cost; Unit; Quantity; Rate; Total Cost of Work; Job No; Amount of Contribution due; Amount borne by the Council; Date Accounts sent out; Payment of Contribution – Date Paid, Receipt No., Amount Paid; Ledger Account to which chargeable; Half Cost Posting done on - ; Audit; Outstandings at end of Half Year; Carried forward to folio of this Book; Remarks. The second volume has mainly the same columns as the first volume but does not have columns for: Half Cost Posting done on -; Audit; Carried forward to folio of this Book; and Remarks. The second volume also has an ‘Assessment No.’ column (these are probably rates valuation assessment numbers, as recorded in the Rate Books for the municipality).Entries recorded in the Locality column are usually the names of streets and generally, but not always, include the house number. Also included in the volumes are notes on accounting calculations made to record reconciliations and outstanding or forwarded arrears, balances, totals etc.
