Usefulness of ultrasonography in Oral Surgery: a scoping review.

This dataset supports the findings of the article : "Usefulness of ultrasonography in Oral Surgery: a scoping review." The Excel file includes the following sheets: - EXTRACTION:Search strategies and applied filters for each database, date of search, total number of records identified, number of full-text reports assessed, and detailed information for each record (first author, year, title, DOI, PMID or link when available, and reason for exclusion where applicable). Included studies were highlighted in pink in the “First Author” column. For each included study, the “EXTRACTION” sheet also contains structured data on: General Informations: bibliographic and methodological characteristics (year, journal, study design), ultrasound equipment (probe type and frequency), clinical context (POCUS or external examination), and operator characteristics. Diagnostic Ultrasound: clinical indication, imaging mode, probe positioning, sonographic anatomy, semiological criteria, diagnosis, and diagnostic relevance (“contributive”, “essential”, or “useless”). Guidance Ultrasound: indication, imaging mode, probe and needle positioning (when applicable), sonoanatomical landmarks, procedural usefulness, and complications; indications are classified by order (first to fifth when applicable). Follow-up Ultrasound: same structure as diagnostic ultrasound, with diagnostic relevance replaced by procedural usefulness. - included articles (List):List of all included studies with unique identification numbers ensuring traceability across dataset sheets. - DIAGNOSTIC (aticles list):Included studies reporting diagnostic ultrasound use, each associated with one or more clinical indications (e.g., temporomandibular joint, salivary glands). - DIAGNOSTIC f(indication):Studies categorized by indication for diagnostic ultrasound use. Quality assessment scores (defined in the “CODEBOOK” sheet) are applied according to indication(s). - GUIDANCE (article and indic):Studies reporting ultrasound-guided procedures categorized by first-order indication, with additional indications recorded up to fifth order when applicable. Quality assessment scores are applied according to indication order. - FOLLOW-UP (articles list):Equivalent to the diagnostic list, applied to follow-up ultrasound studies. - FOLLOW-UP f(indication):Equivalent to the diagnostic indication-based sheet, applied to follow-up ultrasound data.
