This is a polygon layer that represents the shorelines of Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario (the Laurentian Great Lakes) as well as the connecting water bodies Lake St. Clair, the Detroit River, the St. Clair River, and the St. Lawrence River and Seaway. The dataset is strictly a cartographic layer intended only for small-scale display (nominally 1:250,000); the data is of unknown origin and source scale.
