MSP library of Vibrio parahaemolyticus isolates from oysters (Texas, Louisiana, Massachusetts)

A custom Main Spectral Profile (MSP) library (.btmsp file) of 70 Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains isolated from oysters collected in Galveston Bay (Texas, USA), aquaculture plots in Massachusetts, and seafood markets in Texas and Louisiana. This dataset is provided as supplementary material to the manuscript: Resolution of MALDI-TOF MS Compared to Whole Genome Sequencing for the Identification of Vibrio parahaemolyticus Strains Isolated from Oysters by Tetyana King, Mayela Pedrueza, Maliha Rahman, Bonnie Oh, and Michael G. LaMontagne. The MSP library can be used to improve species- and strain-level identification of V. parahaemolyticus by MALDI-TOF MS and as a reference for comparative studies involving genomic and proteomic approaches. In addition to the MSP library, raw MALDI-TOF MS spectra of V. parahaemolyticus used for species identification have also been deposited.
