CLINICAL EFFECTIVENESS OF APICOECTOMY IN CHRONIC GRANULOMATOUS PERIODONTITIS
收藏资源简介:
This study investigates the clinical effectiveness of apicoectomy in the treatment of chronic granulomatous periodontitis affecting anterior teeth. A total of 60 patients aged 25–55 years were examined using clinical and radiological methods. The results demonstrated a high success rate, with 90% of patients showing complete clinical recovery and 88–92% exhibiting radiological signs of bone regeneration. Minor postoperative complications were observed in a small number of cases and resolved without significant intervention. The findings confirm that apicoectomy is a reliable and effective surgical method for managing persistent periapical lesions, especially when conventional endodontic treatment is unsuccessful. The procedure ensures preservation of natural teeth and provides favorable functional and aesthetic outcomes.IntroductionChronic granulomatous periodontitis of the periapical region is one of the most common inflammatory dental conditions. Pathologies affecting anterior teeth are particularly significant due to their functional and aesthetic impact. Conservative endodontic treatment does not always fully eliminate infection. In such cases, apicoectomy, or root-end resection, provides an effective surgical solution, allowing removal of the infectious focus while preserving the tooth.
