This collection is a set of images of specimens held at the Australian Tropical Herbarium. The CNS collection is comprised of an estimated 180,000 specimens that are pressed, dried and mounted on herbarium sheets, and an estimated 18,000 specimens preserved in 70% ethanol.CNS is an amalgamation of the (QRS) The Australian National Herbarium – Atherton collection, and the Queensland Herbarium – Mareeba collection (MBA). The Australian Tropical Herbarium is a contributor to Australia's Virtual Herbarium.Specimens from the Australian Tropical Herbarium have been collected and managed as a joint venture with James Cook University and the Queensland Government.Lineage: \tThis dataset is one of a series that comprises images from the Australian Tropical Herbarium collection. These images were taken as part of a systematic project digitising the whole Herbarium collection or ongoing imaging of the physical specimen collection, and this grouping of images is arbitrary based on the time period the images were taken, it is not a comprehensive list of all the specimens available in a taxon.As such, this dataset may not include all images from a particular taxon and we recommend the Australian Tropical Herbarium specimen image search under Scientific Domains which can be used to search across the image datasets to find all images from a specific taxon.本数据集收录澳大利亚热带植物标本馆（Australian Tropical Herbarium）所藏标本的图像资料。CNS馆藏共包含约18万份经压制、干燥并固定于植物标本台纸的标本，以及约1.8万份保存在70%乙醇溶液中的标本。CNS馆藏由两项原有馆藏合并整合而成：分别为澳大利亚国家植物标本馆阿瑟顿分馆（QRS）藏品，与昆士兰州植物标本馆马里巴分馆（MBA）藏品。澳大利亚热带植物标本馆是澳大利亚虚拟植物标本馆的共建参与单位。澳大利亚热带植物标本馆的标本采集与运维管理工作由詹姆斯·库克大学与昆士兰州政府联合开展。 溯源说明：本数据集为澳大利亚热带植物标本馆馆藏图像系列数据集之一。这批图像的拍摄工作，要么是作为对整个植物标本馆馆藏进行数字化的系统性项目的一部分，要么是针对实体标本馆藏开展的持续性成像工作的组成部分。本次数据集的图像分组仅依据拍摄时段划分，并非针对某一分类单元（taxon）的完整馆藏标本列表。因此，本数据集可能未涵盖某一特定分类单元的全部图像。我们建议通过「科学域（Scientific Domains）」下的澳大利亚热带植物标本馆标本图像检索工具，跨图像数据集进行检索，以获取某一特定分类单元的所有相关图像。
