The aim of this experiment was to investigate the effects of the addition of 5,6-dimethylbenzimidazole and cobalt to high concentrate rations on rumen fermentation and metabolites in sheep. The rumen fermentation parameters, microbial diversity combined with metabolomics techniques were investigated to see if 5,6--dimethylbenzimidazole and cobalt had a mitigating effect on rumen acidosis in sheep.
