资源简介:
The project sequences and assembles a reference genome for the Xingu Scale-backed Antbird (Willisornis vidua nigrigula), a small tracheophone suboscine bird found in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil. This species forms a hybrid zone with a cryptic sister species (Willisornis poecilinotus griseiventris), despite a remarkably old divergence time of 4 million years. This stable hybrid zone is maintained by strong postzygotic selection against hybrids. This assembly will serve as a reference genome for future work on the evolution of genetic incompatibilities in the Willisornis system or other antbird systems. The individual sequenced in this project was collected by Jason Weir on May 10, 2012 in Mato Grosso, Brazil (11.08 S, 54.33 W). It is a male with an all-black throat, and is estimated to contain 9.8% ancestry from the Willisornis poecilinotus griseiventris population.
