Data from: Shifts in root exudate composition coordinate with root resource conservation along an elevation gradient

Through using a trait-based framework applied to roots and exudation chemistry of an alpine coniferous species along an elevation gradient on the eastern Tibetan Plateau, we observed a clear coordination of root exudate metabolic traits with classical root traits. Sampling was performed in six coniferous forest stands distributed along an elevation gradient.
