Members of the ‘Mycoplasma mycoides cluster’ represent important livestock pathogens worldwide. Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides is the aetiologic agent of Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP) in cattle and is still endemic in many parts of Africa. We report the genome sequence the frequently used challenge strain Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides B237. The information provided will be very helpful for downstream omics applications.
