Comprehensive analyses of mRNA expression were performed using skeletal muscle from control and mesenchymal progenitor-depleted mice to investigate the role of mesenchymal progenitors in skeletal muscle maintenance. PDGFRa+ mesenchymal progenitors were depleted using Pdgfra-CreER:R26-DTA mice, and WT:R26-DTA littermate mice were used as control. Skeletal muscle of these mice were quickly frozen and RNA was extracted. Gene expression analysis was performed to identify genes that show altered expression in mesenchymal progenitor-depleted muscle.
