Catalogue of metadata of neodymium (εNd) datasets in the North Atlantic extracted from PANGAEA

This dataset contains a catalogue of metadata of oceanographic datasets related to neodymium isotopes (εNd) in the North Atlantic Ocean. The information was collected from the scientific repository PANGAEA – Data Publisher for Earth & Environmental Science (https://www.pangaea.de/). The objective of this dataset is not to collect the primary scientific measurements themselves, but to create a structured catalogue of datasets that contain information about neodymium in the North Atlantic region. Each record corresponds to a dataset published in PANGAEA and includes metadata that allows the identification, access and contextual understanding of the original dataset. The dataset was generated using automated web scraping techniques implemented in Python. Several strategies were used to discover relevant datasets, including: 1. Parsing previously downloaded HTML search result pages from PANGAEA.2. Exploring the public sitemap of the DOI domain of PANGAEA (https://doi.pangaea.de/sitemap.xml).3. Using the PANGAEA search service to identify candidate datasets related to neodymium. Once the list of candidate datasets was obtained, each dataset page was visited individually and its metadata were extracted from the HTML content and from structured JSON-LD metadata embedded in the page. The resulting dataset contains metadata such as:- dataset title- DOI- dataset URL- authors- publication date- abstract- keywords- geographic coordinates- measured variables- dataset size- license information- event information- parameters related to neodymium The dataset is intended to facilitate the discovery and exploration of scientific datasets related to neodymium in the North Atlantic Ocean and can serve as a starting point for future oceanographic or geochemical analyses. This dataset was created as part of the course “Tipologia i cicle de vida de les dades” in the Master's Degree in Data Science at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).
