Gene expression changes along with the deterministic assembly of E. coli and P. putida cocultures

The deterministic process is an important part in microbial community assembly. Among the initial communities that have tremendous structure variations, how the deterministic assembly is achieved is currently unclear. In the current study, two model microorganisms of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas putida were used to set up three synthetic microbial communities with different initial abundances, and they were subsequently used for revealing the community structure dynamics and gene expression changes during the deterministic assembly process.
