Transcriptome analysis reveals changes in hepatic lipid metabolism when increasing grain proportion in a diet for fattening lambs

Consumption of large amounts of high concentrate diet (HCD) diet might lead to lipid metabolism disorder in lambs. However, the mechanisms are poorly understood.Therefore, in this study aimed to identify the molecular mechanisms for variation in response to a high grain diet within the same animal by characterizing the global gene expression pattern of the liver using RNA-seq based transcriptome profiling.
