Combined heat and power dispatch plays a crucial role in accommodating renewable energy and facilitating the transition to a low-carbon economy. For example, in North China, wind curtailment decreased by 36.9% during the first three quarters of 2023, primarily due to effective coordination between electric power systems and district heating systems. Similar results have also been observed in Denmark and Germany [2]. However, the benefits of CHPD come with certain challenges.
