Tracing accretion disk winds across the electromagnetic spectrum in BHXRBs

During their soft state edgeon black hole transients show blueshiftedabsorption lines in their Xray spectra due to hot and equatorial disk winds.Blueshifted absorption lines have also been discovered in optical andultraviolet(UV). These features must be produced in an outflow, but the physicalconditions required to form them are very different. The three feautures havenever been observed at the same time. It is unclear if they are linked todistinct outflows or simply with different regions. We propose to answer thisquestion with simultaneous timeresolved spectroscopy of a highinclinationsoftstate system in the Xray, UV and optical bands.
