Note: KT and GD aeolian sand profiles were in the mid-upper reaches of the Danghe River, the SL site was in the upstream area of the Shule River, and the YK site was in the central part of the Qilian Mountains along the modern East Asian summer monsoon northern boundary (Fig. S1i). Bold KT01, GD01, SL01, and YK01 are the basal layers of stabilized dunes. Depth is the distance below the land surface.
