In this study, we examine the feasibility of directly DNA metabarcoding unsorted macroinvertebrates (macroinvertebrates and debris) sweep net samples collected from pool/edge habitats which are commonly used for bioassessment. We processed these unsorted samples with a standardised method and tested multiple primer sets widely used for invertebrate DNA metabarcoding.
