Functional role of the diadenylate cyclase gene cdaA in stress responses of the dairy starter Streptococcus thermophilus

This dataset contains the calculated data related to Figure 3 and Table 1 from the manuscript, specifically focusing on the specific growth rate and lag phase calculations from growth curve analysis. The data processing workflow involved: (1) exporting raw data from the growth curve instrument, (2) fitting the data using DMfit3.5 software, (3)organizing the fitted data into Excel spreadsheets, and (4) calculating mean values and standard deviations using the AVERAGE and STDEV.S functions to obtain the final specific growth rate and lag phase values. The dataset includes data for two bacterial strains: the wild-type strain S-3 and the knockout strain S-3△cdaA, with three biological replicates for each strain. The OD600 values in Table 1 represent the experimental data collected at 24 hours from the growth curves. Blank entries in Table 1 indicate either no detectable growth or poor growth conditions that resulted in unreliable fitting data. This dataset provides the essential quantitative parameters for growth curve analysis, enabling reproducibility and further analysis of the growth characteristics between the wild-type and knockout strains.
