Percentage change number of drugstores in the Netherlands 2005-2019, by province

Between 2005 and 2019, the number of drugstores in the Netherlands declined. In 2005 there had been nearly 3,100 drugstores in the country, by 2019 this had decreased to less than 2,800. Only the provinces Flevoland and Utrecht saw the number of drugstores grow. In all other provinces, the number of stores fell. Decline was strongest in the rural provinces Zeeland, Friesland, Groningen and Limburg.
