VPRS 14483 Certificates of Adjustment, Regulation 12 April 1881

The volume in this series contains details of Certificates of Adjustment made under the regulation of April 12th 1881 (under the Land Act 1869). Certificates of Adjustment of title were necessary where areas of land held had been increased due to purchase or amended due to survey or for other reasons. The front of the volume has the instructions issued to clerical officers regarding the completion of pro forma and the collection of fees. Details of each certificate of adjustment to be issued might include the file number and /or sale number, details of the adjustment to be made and of payments due, correspondence numbers and details of any correspondence with the Crown Solicitor regarding the matter.The Regulation stated that, when the boundaries of surveyed land were to be adjusted, the Surveyor-General was to provide certification of that adjustment once the adjustment had been approved by the Governor-in-Council. A fee was to be charged for the issue of such a certificate.
