The advancement of multiscale 3D geological modeling technology has expanded its applications in spatial information sciences, enabling simulation and analysis of complex geological structures. However, organizing and querying multiscale 3D geological block data faces challenges, especially in contexts such as Digital Earth and Smart Cities, where precision and efficiency are crucial. Traditional approaches struggle with dispersed storage, long access paths, and limited query performance, especially for non-uniform spatial distributions and cross-scale queries. This study presents a data model (WH-MSDM) based on the W-Hilbert curve that improves data indexing and management through a unified data structure (UDS) to represent blocks across multiple scales, and a bidirectional mapping model (BMM) for translating between spatial coordinates and memory locations. Spatial, attributive, hybrid, and cross-scale queries are developed for various retrieval needs. These algorithms exploit the space-filling properties of the W-Hilbert curve to map multidimensional geological data into a linear one-dimensional index, improving locality preservation and query efficiency across scales. Experimental results show that WH-MSDM surpasses VDB, Geohash, and Octree in efficiency. This performance advantage offers new insights for complex geological modeling and enhances cross-scale data management and fast querying, indicating its great potential for practical application and scalability.
