Bathytopo Digital Elevation Model for Wave Modelling and Littoral Zones (Australian Climate Service)

This dataset represents the merged national bathymetric and topographic information to underpin the Coupled wave-flow Coastal Hazard Prediction System (CCHaPS) developed for the Australian Climate Service. The dataset is an amalgamation of Geoscience Australia's AusBathyTopo 250m 2023 data for bathymetry, and the Copernicus GLO-30 data for terrestrial areas, with the inclusion of high resolution datasets (LiDAR and bathymetry) where available. The dataset has incorporated these constituent datasets using a texture mapping technique which minimises interruptions in continuity of the benthic surface, which if left untreated can cause instabilities in model output. Bathytopo data has been reprojected to GDA2020 Australian Albers (EPSG:9473) for horizontal positioning, and to Australian Vertical Working Surface (AVWS) (EPSG:9458) for vertical datum. The dataset consists of geotiff data tiles at 30m, 100m and 250m horizontal resolution, with an included geopackage describing the tiling extents and reference system.
