Photograph of a pipeline across a river, ca. 1955. A 30' pipeline with natural gas from the Southern California Gas Company strings across a river, suspended by thin cables from two tall towers on each end of the banks. The pipe streams from beneath the ground on the rightmost bank, curves up into the first tower, crosses the river and ends up at another tower at left. A speedboat cuts through the river below, running towards the left. The background is composed of hills beneath a cloud-clustered sky.
