The collective genome of the microorganisms that reside in the oral cavity are typically known as Oral microbiome which is the second largest microbial community in humans after gut. it is found that dysbiosis in microbial environment can be the reason of initiation and progression of the malignancy. to establish the association between the microbial dysbiosis and OSCC among the Indian population, the tissue samples were subjected to whole genome meta genome sequencing and analysis to understand the metagenomic profile of OSCC using Illumina sequencing platform.
