The percent of normal reservoir data shows the current storage of the reservoirs in the western contiguous United States. Data for these states is from the United States Department of Agriculture - National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). NRCS compiles data from many of the state water boards across the Western United States. This data is supplemented with data from the California Department of Water Resources and the Texas Water Development Board for California and Texas. This layer file is used in the Drought Outlook Web Map and Experience.
