Haa Alifu Atoll is located at the geographic coordinates of 6°48'26"N - 7°6'23"N latitude and 72°48'32"E - 73°14'9"E, situated in the northern part of the Maldives archipelago. It is the northernmost administrative atoll of the Maldives, and also the closest atoll in the Maldives to India and Sri Lanka, with a distance of 450 kilometers from India's southern coast and 750 kilometers from Sri Lanka's western coast. Haa Alifu Atoll consists of two natural atolls: North Thiladhunmathi Atoll and Ihavandhippolhu Atoll, encompassing a total of 40 islands. Of these, 23 islands belong to Ihavandhippolhu Atoll, including Galladhoo, Ihavandhoo, Huvahendhoo, Holhudhoo, Kudadhoo, Iruveli, Maafinolhu, Medhafushi, Hithafushi, Muladhun, Mathira, Gamathikolhudhoo, Berimadu, Madhuru, Innafinolhu, Olhigamu, Vagaru, Thulakunu, etc. The remaining 17 islands are from North Thiladhunmathi Atoll, including Bala, Maafushi, Udhoo, Mulidhoo, Mulaidhoo, Thakandhoo, Hedhigandu Dhonakulhi, Alidhoo, Maalhendhoo, Dhiddu, Nalhendhoo, Vashafaru, Filadhoo, Kaylardhoo, etc. The total area of the atoll is 18.48 square kilometers, and the largest island is Bala, covering an area of 2.56 square kilometers. This dataset was developed based on comprehensive Google Earth remote sensing imagery and relevant geographic information data. The data is stored in .kmz and .shp formats, with a compressed size of 234 KB.
