Drinking to Belong: How Loneliness Fuels Alcohol-Related Consequences

This registration contains materials and data-related files for the manuscript entitled, "Drinking to Belong: How Loneliness Fuels Alcohol-Related Consequences," to be published in the Journal of Social Psychology. In this research, we explore how feelings of loneliness are related to alcohol-related consequences, and whether this is mediated by coping, social, enhancement, and conformity drinking motives over 12 months in a sample of 591 heavy-drinking college students. Generalized linear mixed models are utilized. The primary outcome is alcohol-related consequences.
