This study explored the applicability of shotgun genomic circular consensus sequencing to identify microsatellites in non-model organisms. We based our analysis on three sympatric tropical tree species, as, Alchornea costaricensis (Euphorbiaceae), Cecropia insignis (Cecropiaceae), and Triplaris cumingiana (Polygonaceae), all of which genomic information was formerly lacking.
