资源简介:
Current measurements from a total of five cruises that were carried out in the western tropical North Atlantic between 2000 and 2005. The dataset comprises 113 stations along a line stretching from east of Guadeloupe to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge at approximately 16°N. Teledyne RDI acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs), mounted in the water sampler, were used to measure velocities during CTD casts. During the cruises from 2000 to 2003, a single downward-looking 150 kHz narrowband ADCP was used. In 2004 and 2005, a pair of 300 kHz Workhorse Monitor ADCPs was deployed, one upward-looking and one downward-looking. The raw data were processed to yield full-depth profiles of horizontal velocity with a vertical resolution of 10 meters. Barotropic tidal velocity was obtained from the global TPXO model at each station and was then subtracted from the velocity profiles.
