We propose a novel approach to studying the Purcell effect in multimode cavity quantum electrodynamics (cQED) using Mössbauer nuclei, specifically 57Fe, in a thin-film x-ray cavity. While extensively studied in single-mode cQED, the Purcell effect for x-ray photons in multimode systems remains unexplored. Using synchrotron Mössbauer source at ID14 ESRF, we aim to observe distinct decay rate modifications due to interactions between nuclei and multiple cavity modes. This work provides new means for quantum control in the x-ray regime and lays the foundation for developing x-ray photonic devices for quantum technologies.
