M4 - Meteorological Graphics
The Southern Oxidants Study (SOS) a major field research
campaign in Nashville/Middle Tennessee area in June and July 1994 and
1995. The goal of this study was to improve scientific understanding
of the processes that control the production and distribution of ozone
in the troposphere.
These data are a compilation of meteorological observations and
analysis products in graphical format collected for the period from
June 22 through July 19, 1995 during the 1995 Southern Oxidants Study
(SOS Nashville/Middle Tennessee Ozone Study. Included are surface and
upper-air observations, GOES-8 hi-resolution (1 km) visible satellite
images, RAMS 50 m ozone contours and wind trajectory simulations,
lower troposphere analyses, plume dispersion model trajectories, and
24-hr wind profiles for the Dickson, TN Level II site. These data can
be downloaded from the Earth System Science Laboratory web page at
http://essl.uah.edu/
The study was conducted from June 22, 1995 through July 19, 1995.
