United Utilities Sewer Catchment Boundaries

This dataset outlines the catchment areas for sewerage networks and wastewater systems such as treatment services. Outlining the boundaries aids United Utilities with operational management, strategic planning and resource allocation. This data can be overlayed with topography and weather data to better understand the requirements for a particular area. Context This shapefile is intended solely for geospatial analysis. It provides a spatial representation of localised drainage areas for United Utilities Water Limited aligned to our appointed area outlined in our Instrument of Appointment. This boundary data should not be relied upon to determine the likelihood of an individual property’s drainage status. Not all properties are connected to our network. If a property is connected to a septic tank, cesspool, package treatment plant, or other private solution of disposal, these properties could potentially sit outside of the drainage areas. Additionally, the network from which these boundaries are drawn is approximate only and based on best information available at the time of production. The position of the boundary is approximate only and is given in accordance with the best information currently available.
