Land Area Change in Coastal Louisiana from 1932 to 2010

The analyses of landscape change presented in this dataset use historical surveys, aerial data, and satellite data to track landscape changes in coastal Louisiana. Persistent loss and gain data are presented for 1932-2010. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) analyzed landscape changes in coastal Louisiana by determining land and water classifications for 17 datasets. These datasets include survey data from 1932, aerial data from 1956, and Landsat Multispectral Scanner System (MSS) and Thematic Mapper (TM) data from the 1970s to 2010.
