Transitional water bodies – Whole France – Version Reportage 2016

A transitional body of water is a distinct and significant part of the surface waters located near the mouths of rivers or rivers, which are partly salty because of their proximity to coastal waters but which remain fundamentally influenced by freshwater currents, constituting the elementary division of aquatic environments intended to be the assessment unit of the WFD.
